A quick and easy microwave mug cake inspired by the classic Indian sweet, Gulab Jamun, made with milk powder, flour, cardamom, and soaked in sugar syrup.
1. In a microwave-safe mug or bowl, add all the dry ingredients (unsweetened milk powder, all-purpose flour, oat flour, cardamom powder, baking soda, salt) and mix thoroughly.
2. In a separate container, heat milk and 1.5 tsp sugar together until the sugar dissolves.
3. Add 0.5 tbsp ghee and the prepared hot sugar milk to the dry ingredients in the mug.
4. Mix everything well until combined.
5. Microwave for 1 minute or until you see the sides of the cake separated from the mug.
6. Pour sugar syrup over the mug cake, allowing it to soak in completely, similar to how regular gulab jamuns are soaked.
7. Garnish with chopped pistachios and dried rose petals before serving. (Note: The milk powder may make it stick to the bottom initially, but it will come loose once soaked in syrup.)
